1. Opening a bank account
In Australia, Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA), ANZ, NAB, and Westpac are the most popular banks.

2. TFN (Australian equivalent of IRD number)
You can only apply for a TFN once you are in Australia. Apply for a TFN here.
3. Medicare
This is Australia’s healthcare scheme that provides free or subsidised access to public hospital services; Kiwis are also eligible for it. Enrol in Medicare.
4. Apply for a Super account
This is the Australian equivalent of KiwiSaver. You can compare different Super providers here.

5. Health Insurance
